Bali

Well, i think i have fell in love..with...BALI!

The food, the beaches and not to forget my stay at the four season resort @ jimbaran bay. It really an amazing experience there.

There are some restaurants that serve really good food at an affordable price.

First up, the bali cafe ( that's it people. its really called Bali cafe and not cafe in Bali). It is situated in Seminyak, right in between famous restaurant Chandi and Ultimo).

Ambience is not bad at all. A little hot..A little rustic i must say but hey, with the price they are offering, what else can i ask for. So i went ahead and ordered one of their set lunch which you can either choose a starter and main dish or main dish and a dessert. Being a dessert lover, of course i went ahead with the latter.

Ta-dah! Carbonara! Surprisly good! The cream sauce wasn't too salty or cheesy. It blends really well with the bacon bits. Quite a handfuls of bacon. The chef didn't go stingy on me. =)

Next up...dessert time! I have no idea what's the actual of name of this dessert. It has strawberries, hot strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream in the middle of the bowl. Simple yet it tastes heavenly. It might look a lil blah but it tastes really really good. Especially it was hot and sunny in Bali.

Total cost of the set lunch is 50,000 rupiahs. (SGD 8.50)

Good is it?  I will be back BALI CAFE.

Marriages - Now and then

We are all given the choice to choose the man or woman we want to be with for the rest of our life. But back in the days (during our grandparent or great grandparent generation), not many are given such luxury. Marriages were usually planned or what people called 'pragmatic marriages'. Pragmatic marriage is a marriage in which both the bride and the groom has no official say over the selection of their future wife/husband. Usually the decision lies in the hand of both parents. Well, I don't know if it makes you wonder but i did..how did such marriages last? is it 'loveless'?

Well, maybe its not love at first sight but that doesn't mean it won't be the love of your life.

Wedding Vow

Hi Readers,

Just to share a portion of a wedding vow i came across which i think its real and at the same time, sweet.

'When you love someone, you do not love them all the time in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. That is impossible. It is even a disservice to pretend it is possible. Yet that is what most of us demand. We have such little faith in the ebb and flow of life and of love and of relationships. We leap forward at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb, for we are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanence, on duration, on continuity. But the only continuity possible in life, as in love, is in growth, in fluidity and in freedom, as dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in creating the same pattern.'

Bridesmaid

Hi Readers,

Has anyone watched the movie '27 dresses' before?

If you haven't, you probably should dl it now! You will never...ever..regret! I watched it twice!

As funny as it is supposed to be (romantic comedy), it does contain a lil humanity in the context of this movie.

As you know, bridesmaids refer to a group of unwed young woman at a marriageable age, usually a close group of girlfriends or sisters. If you are lucky enough, you could even be the maid of honor or matron of honor (if you are married).

It is definitely definitely nice being chosen to be a bridesmaid. It symbolises the sisterhood between you and the bride. But wouldn't one feel jaded and depressed being a bridesmaid, one wedding after the other? After all, no one wants to be a bridesmaid thru out their entire life. It is every woman's dream to walk down the aisle, dressed in white and say ' i do'.

Don't you? I do

To be cont....
